Peterbald Cats:
The Peterbald is a relatively new breed of hairless cat that originated in Russia as a cross between the Donskoy and Oriental Shorthair. Unlike the Sphynx, Peterbald cats do not have a pot belly but instead have an elegantly long body and legs and bat-like large ears. Even though this is a hairless breed, there are actually five different coat types. These are: bald, which is completely hairless and almost sticky to touch; flock, which is 90% hairless; velour, which is 70% hairless with a coat up to 1 mm; brush coat, with is a short coat up to 5 mm that has a felt feeling to it; and straight coat, which is a full short coat of fur since cats with this type do not possess the hair loss gene. Peterbald cats are very active and affectionate as well as possess high intelligence.
