Selkirk Rex Cats:
The Selkirk Rex is a breed of cat that is characterized by its extremely curly hair. Unlike other Rex breeds, the Selkirk Rex have hair is not partially missing and is of a normal length. This larger sized cat has been bred with both a long and short haired variety. It has a wooly appearance with its loose curls that are quite soft. The coat is very thick and is accepted in all colors, although it does have a greater inclination for shedding than many other breeds. Selkirk Rex cats have differing temperaments depending on the breeds used in their development. Many breeds have been used in developing this breed, including American Shorthairs, British Shorthairs, Persians and Exotics.
